Upkeep and economy

The things that keep a character ready: pipes that are always lit, cures in hand, rites that stay up, shops you can buy from with a click, gold collected and stowed, and a pack thieves cannot empty.

Pipes

Smoking cures need a lit pipe with the right herb in it. When pipes are not maintained, the failure does not look like a pipe problem; it looks like a cure that never fires. Emunah refills an empty pipe with the herb it holds, relights one that has gone out, and reads PIPELIST when it does not know the state, such as after login or a reload. A pipe can go out without a line to say so, so the first affliction after a quiet spell relights them all, before a smoking cure is refused.

All of it is hidden from the game text: the PIPELIST, the refills, the relights, and the line saying a pipe has gone out. A PIPELIST you ask for is shown. Relighting is also switched from the emset defs grid.

emset pipes # each pipe: lit or out, what it holds, puffs left
emset pipes on|off
emset pipes now # send PIPELIST now, and show it
SettingDefaultWhat it does
pipes.enabledtrueKeep the pipes filled and lit.
pipes.assignunsetWhich herb goes in which pipe.
pipes.poll0Re-check every pipe this often, in seconds. 0 asks only when the pipes are not known.

The rift and cures in hand

Emunah keeps your cures stocked in both directions: it pulls the next herb out of the rift as soon as one is eaten, and puts any surplus back, because inventory is lost on death and the rift is not. Every trip that is due goes in one send, and a herb needed at once that is only in the rift is pulled and eaten together. How many of each to keep is yours to choose:

emset keep # the herbs kept in hand, and how many of each
emset keep ash 3 # keep three ash
emset keep kelp off # keep none in hand

IR is redrawn with a toggle beside every herb, and ELIST as a table, one row per fluid, so you can see at a glance which vials are running low. See cures in hand for how pulls are timed.

Rites

Perform Well-being or Revitalisation, or type RITES where yours are up, and each is performed again whenever it runs out, for as long as you stay in that room. Leaving the room stops it. How long each one has left is read from RITES, quietly, once equilibrium is back after every perform. Renewals wait while PvP is on, and none goes while Perform Hands needs the equilibrium to heal you.

You put every rite up yourself, in a fight as well: Emunah never performs a rite you have not. Each costs three to five seconds of equilibrium, which in a fight is time the mace spends waiting, so raise the fight's rites before it starts if you want them. Three tries that do not bring a rite up stop it with a message. emset rites shows what is being kept and for how long.

Shops

WARES listings are made clickable. Under each item, an action line buys one, fills your rift from a tun, or opens a choice of quantities. You can also buy by the item's number directly:

buy 476321 # one
buy 50 476321 # fifty
emset shop.confirmAbove 5000 # ask before any purchase over 5,000 gold

The gold comes out of your pack for the purchase, exactly the price, and anything not spent goes back in. With shop.confirmAbove set, a purchase over that price waits for you to confirm it.

Loot

When the last denizen on the kill list in the room is down, Emunah sends get gold, which takes every pile in the room, and puts the gold in your pack once it is in your hands. Denizens that are not on the kill list do not hold it up, and nor do your guardian angel, your mount and your pegasus.

emset loot # on or off, and how much has been picked up
emset loot on|off
emset loot now # sweep the room now
SettingDefaultWhat it does
loot.goldtruePick gold up at all.
loot.aloneOnlytrueOnly with nobody else in the room.
loot.noDenizenstrueNot while anything on the kill list is still in the room.

loot.holdTyped30 sGold you take out of the pack yourself stays in hand this long before it goes back.
pack.idyour packThe one pack, by its number: gold goes in, purchases are paid from it.

Antitheft

Achaea's thieves strip one defence, selfishness, and pick your pocket in the gap before it is back. Emunah closes that gap from both ends:

emset antitheft # selfishness, the pack, and what is kept in it
emset antitheft on|off
emset antitheft now # put loose gold and valuables away now

Curatives are never swept into the pack; they have to stay loose to be eaten.
